About
Kapwa Sol Insights is a progressive research, evaluation, and strategy firm founded by me, Dr. Danielle Lemi, PhD, pictured to the right with dark hair and a pink blazer.
What sets Kapwa Sol apart is the range of perspectives that shape how I work. I’ve spent a decade moving between worlds that speak different languages—higher education, arts & culture, and civic engagement & pro-democracy work. Each one taught me how creativity can clarify strategy and how values shape every decision we make.
My approach draws from across disciplines—mixed-methods social science, user research, and product development—to bridge values with data.
Kapwa Sol Insights reflects my Pinay and Chicana roots, as well as the values I bring to this work. "Kapwa" is a Filipino cultural value that reflects our connection and mutual responsibility to one another. "Sol" is the Spanish word for the sun—the source of life. We give life to each other.
The Kapwa Sol Insights logo above blends the sun from the Philippine flag, the Lone Star of Texas, and the California poppy—a nod to the migrations my ancestors made across the Mexican border and the Pacific Ocean, and to my own move from California to Texas. This is the history, and these are the values I carry in every collaboration.
